Information on Borrowing from the COD Library
If you need something that is not available at the COD Library, you can try requesting them from other libraries.
COD Library Cards will not work at public libraries, and public library cards will not work at the COD Library.
COD Library Cards for COD Students, Faculty, and Staff will work at many, but not all, academic libraries in Illinois, if you have established a free I-SHARE account.
I-SHARE information
Available to COD Students, Faculty, and Staff, this service borrows materials from other Illinois academic libraries. Once you have set up your free I-SHARE account, you can go to many of these other Illinois academic libraries and borrow books with your COD Library Card.
Some of those nearby academic libraries include: Benedictine University, Dominican University, Elgin Community College, Elmhurst College, Harper College, Joliet Junior College, Judson University, Lewis University, Morton College, North Central College, Northern Illinois University, Oakton Community College, Triton College, University of Illinois at Chicago, Waubonsee Community College, Wheaton College.
INTERLIBRARY LOAN (ILL)
This service is used to borrow materials from libraries that are not in the I-SHARE system, such as public libraries, and libraries in other parts of the country. District residents can use this service to request books, but not articles.
COD Library Cards are not valid at public libraries, and library cards from public libraries are not valid at the COD Library.
