Established in 2000, the Philanthropy Collection supports the information needs of nonprofit organizations located in DuPage County.
The Philanthropy Collection is also part of the Candid community. As a member of this nationwide network of libraries, community foundations, and other nonprofit agencies, we provide visitors with free public access to books on fundraising and nonprofit management, but also to Foundation Directory Professional and Guidestar Pro. These fully searchable databases include detailed profiles of all active U.S. foundations and an extensive file of recent grants awarded by the nation's top funders.
The Collection is available to all visitors whenever the Library is open. Users that have COD Library cards can also check out materials.
Foundation Directory Professional by Candid provides detailed profiles of active U.S. foundations and extensive files of recent grants awarded by the nation's top funders. On-campus only.
GuideStar by Candid allows users to verify a nonprofit's legitimacy, learn whether a contribution will be tax deductible, view a nonprofit's recent Form 990, or find out more about its mission, programs, and finances. On-campus only.
