Instructions
To add a reusable subject guide component to any of your guides or pages, click the "Add box" link on your page, then:
- Click the "Reuse Existing Box" tab in the pop-up menu
- Choose the "Template: Subject Guide Components" guide
- Choose which box you want to reuse. (The available boxes are all viewable on this page.)
- Optionally, overwrite the existing box title with you own title. However, best practice is to leave this field blank and use the existing title.
Notes:
- Using these reusable boxes is important for facilitating global updates. For instance, if our catalog changes, I can update the catalog search box and this search tool will update automatically throughout the site.
- You can use this technique to reuse any of your own content or content created by others in the Library. This is a good way to avoid creating duplicated or redundant content!
