Science Direct provides indexing and full-text journal articles in the sciences and social sciences, including chemistry, medicine, computer science, earth science, economics, business, engineering, energy, environmental science, life science, materials science, mathematics, physics, and astronomy. This is a good source for scholarly research in those subjects.
JSTOR Global Plants
Access 2.5 million specimens in the Global Plants database, as well as collector's correspondence, and diaries, paintings, drawings, and other notes taken by botanists.

JSTOR has a number of anthropological and historical journals that discuss plant usage associated with culture
AnthroSource
AnthroSource is a full-text collection of journals published by the American Anthropological Association spanning nearly a century's worth of Anthropology scholarship. Search for plants with strong cultural associations (tobacco, rice) here.
Encyclopedia Britannica
The online version of the classic Encyclopedia Britannica will also include summaries of cultural impact.

Start by searching Journal Locator by the journal name.
If the results give you a database name, great! Click on the link and search by article title.
If there are no relevant results, head to InterLibrary Loan forms.
Fill out the Article form. In about 3-5 business days, you should get an electronic copy of the article in your email.
