Music 1104 - American Music - Paoli, Ponce, Siriano: Finding Sources

Introduction

This guide is designed to help you find resources for Professors' Paoli, Ponce and Siriano's library assignments One and Two.  If you need additional help, please visit the Library's reference services page, or contact the Music librarian, Ken Orenic.

To access Electronic online resources, you need to know your COD MyAccess username and password. 

To get print books from the Library, you'll need your library card number, which can be obtained using this online form. Student and Staff ID Cards can be activated online.   

Using the Library From Off Campus

Access Online Resources

You'll need your COD MyAccess username and password to access the COD Library's databases.  Materials accessible include ebooks, scholarly and peer-reviewed articles, magazine and newspaper articles, films, and sound recordings.  

Off Campus Access to Resources

At the time of this writing the Library's physical spaces are closed to the COD community. However, you can still find books and other materials in the catalog and arrange for pickup.  This guide provides information on:

Musical Genres, Performers and Composers

Your project will likely include one or more musical genres.  Become familiar with the music by listening to examples, finding out the historical roots of the genre, learn about the prominent musicians and composers, the types of instruments used.  

Finding Books

Find ebooks and books in print using the Library's catalog and ebook collections.
