Hokusai Research Guide : Local Hokusai Events

Join Diana Martinez, Director of the McAninch Arts Center (the MAC) at the College of DuPage, for a behind-the-scenes look at Hokusai & Ukiyo-e: The Floating World.

In celebration of the Cleve Carney Museum of Art's summer 2025 exhibit, Roselle is joining several other DuPage communities by displaying a temporary public art piece inspired by the ukiyo-e style. Roselle's piece will be on display at Petal Porch from the end of May through late September.

The Lisle Library District (LLD) in partnership with Lisle intergovernmental agencies and local businesses are partnering to create a Hokusai experience in Lisle! This summer, HOKUSAI & UKIYO-E: The Floating World will be on display at the Cleve Carney Museum of Art at the College of DuPage. To coincide with this exhibition, Lisle will be hosting its own community art installation and interactive experience in Downtown Lisle along the Garden Walk at the Main Street Fountain this summer.

In conjunction with the 2025 exhibition Hokusai and Ukiyo-e: The Floating World, The College of DuPage, McAninch Arts Center, and Cleve Carney Museum of Art have partnered with Naperville Artist Rich Lo to create ukiyo-e style images showcasing the many beautiful villages and cities that make up DuPage County. Collaborating with these DuPage communities, Lo will create original works that highlight distinctive locations in each area. Each artwork will be transformed into a large-scale mural and installed in the specific community it represents. These works will also be on display in the McAninch Arts Center during the Hokusai and Ukiyo-e exhibition from May 31-Sept 21, 2025.
