Illinois State Library E-Resources

What are the new Illinois State Library (ISL) databases?

The ISL has provided a package of over 50 different EBSCOhost databases to Illinois libraries. The new databases include materials for primary, secondary, and college level learners. LearningExpress, subject and grade level specific eBook collections, Auto Repair Source, and many primary source titles are just a few examples of what the new ISL package has to offer.

When will the new databases become available to the public?

These databases are currently accessible from within the EBSCOhost platform for everyone on campus and via unique link for district residents to use from home. The Library will decide which databases to highlight and add to our A-Z Database Page in fall 2024. For now, users may use the library catalog, this LibGuide, or the EBSCOhost platform to access all the new databases.

Who can access the new databases?

All Illinois state residents have access to the ISL database package. All district residents will have access to these databases from campus and from home via a unique link.

How do I access them from on and off campus?

Students, faculty, and staff should continue to use their COD credentials to access all subscription and ISL e-resources.

District residents/all Illinois residents can access library databases on campus as usual on the open public computers but must use the unique link and login to access the ISL databases from home. The link and login can be found in this guide under District Resident Remote Access.
